A Limit to Human Sociability

Did I ever tell you about the Monkeysphere? It's essentially the limit on the number of people you can care about.

As in, there are your friends. Then there are your closer acquaintances. Then there might be people you vaguely remember. But the rest of the world is just a large unknown.

If this sounds interesting to you, I recommend you read the Monkeysphere Article.

And even if it doesn't sound that interesting to you, I suggest you read it anyways. If not because you will find it interesting, then because it will help you learn something about yourself as a human.

And, if you're really into this Monkeysphere business, I've found another article based on the same concept. It's from my favorite online magazine, The Escapist.

I like how when you wake up twice in one day, it feels like two different days.

What's something that we cannot touch, taste, or otherwise sense, yet affects us often?

What do you mean there's more than one answer!?

"Set unreasonably high expectations for yourself, so you can tremble when you meet them."

So a store's policy is, "you break it, you but it." What if I broke a bottle of alcohol? Could they let me buy it, even though I'm a minor?

If there were 25 hours in the day, would you really accomplish anything more?

If you look at a person with a psychotic abnormality, how much of their personality is the abnormality?
Say you had a friend whose abnormality caused them to be ever angry. Say they also got treated. They'd be like a whole different person, right?
Say you had a friend who had schizophrenia. What if they were the weirdest of your bunch; the one that always looks out for conspiracy theories? Then what if they, "normaled up?" What if they were just like all your other friends? They'd be like a different person, no?
Man... To think of the deeper issues...

If you spend a lot of time recording your life, then you'll have a great record. But if you spend too much time recording, you'll have nothing to record.

I think, therefore I am. I eat, therefore I exist. I poop, therefore I stink.

If every bad day is a prelude to a good day, then does that mean every bad day is a good day? If so, then would there be any bad days? Would there be good days if all the days were good? Oh man, someone did not think that one through.

When I achieve something, I feel good. When someone else achieves something, then I feel worse.
Now to make that rhyme.
"When I achieve something, all goes well. When you achieve something, my self esteem goes to hell."
Hey, it's a work in progress.

If trinkets make me happy, and I can buy trinkets, aren't I really just buying happiness?

If Jared are half the food and became half the Jared, where's the other half... of the Jared?

While researching lucid dreaming, I realized that most of my dreams take place in a third person view. I mean, what is up with that? And how would I never have noticed that before?

Sometimes I wonder if other people read my comments when I so lovingly skip over theirs. Or, if they would read my comments after I skipped over theirs. It's a concern for me. What if no one ever checked out anyone's comments? What would be the point of it all?
Then I realize I have read other people's comments, and that it's not such a big concern.
