I forget where I left off. So I'll just continue in my 2013/14 season. The season started innocuously enough. No big players suddenly dissipating. It was all in all a peaceful beginning.

Although, I think I did make a big signing in the beginning of the year. I was searching for midfielders, and I found Gavin McCann. He was pretty old, but he was also pretty good. I think he was out of contract, so he was desperate for work and open to joining a team as lowly as ours. So, I signed him, and it seemed like it would all work out.

The first few games went with only one small hitch; Gavin McCann couldn't prove himself because he was injured. Also, we were firmly established as upper table, but not yet at the top.

One of the few things I regretted was being angry at my players for losing a few early games. First of all, we were barely expected to reach a mid table position. So, I should have been happy for anything above that. Also, my team was able to perform miracles when jacked up on morale. So, i n retrospect, shooting them down was the wrong thing to do. Good thing I realized this early on, and stopped.

As far as cup positions went, it was the same as last year. For the first two cups that always happen, good enough to get past the first few, but losing later on. For the Scottish League Cup, we weren't good enough to win, but we were good enough to earn ourselves a sizable amount of cash.

Eventually the games went on and on. McCann got better and started getting into the team of the week. My team was really proving ourselves to be something else. Although, I did notice something interesting. First of all, our strikers weren't really consistently the best in the league any more. They were good, that's for sure, but not quite the best. Still, not really a problem, as we were doing very, very well.

Now, to the dramatic finish. The scene is like six games to the end. Then, we were fist, with Alloa trailing, but trailing close. Then we lost a game, and they somehow managed to be first. So, we went through the next few games with Alloa being barely ahead of us. We were going to catch up. And we did. On our second to last game, we were against and easy opponent, that we easily won. Now we were tied with Alloa in terms of points. And the best part? Our final game was against Alloa.

Everyone was fired up for that game. The starting squad's morale was all very good. The Alloa manager told the press that his team would win, but that didn't affect my players. Well, it did, but I think it just fired them up more. Then, it was time for a final match.

But first, a word on the possible outcomes. A win would mean we were first in the league, and we would instantly be transported to the next division up. A tie would mean we still win, as we had a higher score difference. A loss would mean we would be second, but not necessarily passed by for promotion. There's a playoffs for promotion, but I don't like to chance those. So, we had to win, or at least draw. A loss might mean our doom.

And it was a crazy game. If I remember correctly, there was just one score. It was a seemingly lucky shot by a newly signed striker. I forget how good he was, but he did have some quality to him. And that was it. We were the champions. We got promoted. Everyone was happy. The press fell over themselves trying to compliment me. It was another glorious day.

So, I left off with the rest of the season to go. Well, here's how we did. We got promoted, that's for sure. We kept our spot at the top of the ladder. Yeah, take that. Of course, the second place team also got promoted, so we had someone to compete with. They were one of the only familiar teams in the second division.

This was the last time I simulated a significant amount of time since. Why? Apparently we lost Adam Tann over the off season. Now, he was our rock to the defense. We really could have used him. Now, in the end, it all turned out okay, as we got a replacement. Apparently good defenders are a dime a dozen. But still, it put me off of simulating for quite some time.

Oh, Stirling. Now, East Stirlingshire and Stirling sound like they come from the same place. And they must, because they have a sort of rivalry. In most of our meetings, we were billed as the supreme underdogs. We were consistently kicking their ass through the season. I would get messages from my chairman saying he thought it was awesome that we owned them. That's a prelude to...

Our performances in the second division. For a very brief moment of time, we were number one. That's right, we were almost promoted. Then we started losing some games. We found ourselves in a mid table position. Around 4-5th. (Out of 10) Then near the end of the season, we rallied to win fourth. We were set for the promotion playoffs.

Now for the brief segment about our cup games. We were knocked out of two cups very early on, so there was no winning those. But there was one cup left, and we kicked butt. Our final match was against a premier league team. No, not just any; the premier league team. And we did okay against them. They won, but they had to fight for it! Man, even the pundits were surprised. Even better, we got $110k for our cup performances. Now that was awesome. And on another note, Hearts (The team we played) went on to win the thing. So we definitely left it to the right people.

Of course, there was no way we could have been 1st in our division. Ross Country earned that honor, and they were pretty good. We beat them once. Actually, twice, but I'll get back to that. Either way, they had quite the pile of points for them. It would have been harder than heck to beat them. So we didn't. We just earned our place in fourth. Then, with the last two games approaching and our scores being so close to the others, we were able to make it to third place. I have to mention that our last game was against Ross Country. Yes, they were good. And we won! It actually meant nothing, but it was a nice note to end our season with.

Well, not actually. There still were playoffs. So, we played against one of the better teams. It was tough. I forgot how it went, but at the end we lost. It's okay; we'll just get promoted next season. No need to be quite so ambitious.

So, that's how the season went. Stand by for the next one.

So, more about my foray into Scotland. So I joined a team that was looking to fail. And fail they did. I just simulated the season, but it didn't look too good for them that year. But there was one good side to all of this; they didn't get relegated. It was awesome. Normally joining a club halfway through would be certain relegation, but these people were at the bottom of the food chain. So, when the season started, the pundits figured we focused too much on offense. This inspired me to make one of the most impacting changes to the team. I bought a few good defenders. Apparently this was enough to turbo boost my team into first place in devision three Scotland. Seeing as how they were 10th (absolute bottom) last year and their expect position was another 10, this is big stuff. I even had some of the best games ever. I had this one game that was 3-0, our favor. A game or two later, I had a 4-0. Two games later it was a 5-0. It was impressive. Of course, I ran into some trouble. Apparently our two best strikers wanted new contracts, so I gave them some. I think that demoralized the team, because they're playing like crap. I mean, it's okay because they're at the top, but still. We can't get promoted if we don't keep on winning. Those other teams are catching up. Also, we aren't doing so well in cup games. But it's not like we were going to win anything significant, so that's okay.

Well, that's that, with more to follow.

Apparently playing football manager is not my strong suit. So, I last left off with me joining Tiverton, the mysterious team in yellow. At first, being there seemed to give me hope. It looked like I could turn them around. In the offseason, I found some good signings. I talked to my assistant and most of my players had five stars. It looked bright. But then the games started. Yeah, it didn't work out so well. Although, there was one bright shining star. See, every Conference North and South team gets entered into the FA Cup. Apparently we got some easy teams, because we made it to the third round. Now, I don't quite know what that means, but we beat at least three other teams. We also beat our initial team in the FA Trophy cup, but we lost to the next one. Darn you, Bath (Conference South)!

However, I did make one new change. Instead of just having one poor coach have to coach everything, I bought quite a few people. It was pretty cool. Of course, since the club was a bit rich, it worked out, but still.

So, like I was saying, we were losing. I figured my team was tanking, so I split. How did I leave, you ask? I had previously asked my board to improve training facilities. So now I issued an ultimatum. After the continue, I was looking for a job. It worked like a charm.

So now I'm going to make a little foray into Scotland. Perhaps this will be my lucky break. Perhaps this will end in failure. The short of it is, I have a job.

Well, it's the end of season blues. Since I always seem to find myself in the lowest division possible, relegation means being fired. Or so I believe. So, this season didn't go too well. I changed my tactics from being insane to moderately normal, and we almost climbed out of 22nd position. However, we lost in the end and were relegated. Of course, there's a delay between the end of season and being fired. So, I await the best.

Then it was June and I hadn't been fired yet. Either something very good is happening, or it's just going to happen later. I sure hope it's the former.

Then I got that bad feeling you get when you know something bad is just around the corner. Oh well, at least I get to watch the world cup. Also, I saw that my signing of a particular defender was considered the worst signing of the season. Seeing as how this is Conference North and it was for $2k... Well, I just like to think that says something about Conference North.

And pow, there goes the sack. Now the inevitable job search shall begin.

Whooh. I got a new job. I don't know much about this team; I barely even remember its name. It begins with a “t.” Also, the colors are yellow. Oh how I hate yellow. Also, they're newly promoted. When will these people ever learn? I'll be back with more information, later.

Oh my gosh...

There's going to be a football manager MMORPG. I mean, I liked playing offline and all, but come on. Odds are, I'll get this. And when I do, I'll let you all know. I'll finally get to see just how poorly I measure up to real people.

So, I decided to chronicle my adventures in Football Manager 2007 as the manager, “Terrible Edward.”. I've been playing for some time, so let's first catch up.

I started in the beginning of the 2007 [in game] season for Kelmis, one of the few teams to hire me based on my nonexistant credentials. They were a team struggling against telefation, and we did. We fought it off the first year. I didn't have much in the way of budget, but they did have some good players. The next year, we didn't do so well. I thought we could pull off winning, but I went on vacation near the end of the season and was surprised to find our team relegated and myself out of a job. So I reapplied. I found myself with C.D. Toledo, a newly promoted (into the lowest possible league) Spanish team. I had some money to spend, but it wasn't really a sizeable sum. They did horribly, and near the end I did everything I could to escape the wreck.

The next team I signed up with was a newly promoted team (in Conference North/South). These newly promoted teams sure do like me, no? Since they were rich, I had quite some fun finding good people to hire. I even had to hire staff! I find myself near the middle of the year and at the bottom of the league (or close to it). Personally, I think I'm cursed somehow. Well, check back later to see how it all works out.
